About Harlequin strain
This strain has tight, dense buds of medium size. Its leaves are medium green with pistils that vary in color from orange to vivid red. Despite lower than average concentrations of THC, it is typically covered in sticky white trichomes. When properly cured, the buds smell musky with traces of tropical fruit underneath. The combusted flowers have a woody, earthy scent and taste of mango and citrus fruits when inhaled. The smooth smoke is not known to induce coughing, and it finishes with a rich, hashy aftertaste.
Harlequin is a sativa marijuana strain renowned for its reliable expression of CBD. This strain provides clear-headed effects and the ability to relax without sedation or intoxication. Harlequin is a descendant of Colombian Gold, a Nepali indica, and Thai and Swiss landrace strains. Harlequin’s high levels of CBD make this strain one of the most effective strains for the treating pain and anxiety, as CBD can counteract THC’s paranoia while amplifying its painkilling properties. This strain features flavors that range from earthy musk to sweet mango.
Harlequin is a sativa-dominant strain known for producing equal ratios of CBD and THCA.
First bred by Mr. Green from the House of David Collective, the strain is a cross between three landrace strains, a Nepali Indica and two landrace strains from Thailand and Switzerland, which were then pollinated by a Colombian Gold male.
The strain was originally cultivated for making hash/concentrates, but rather than creating a resinous strain that was high in THC, the breeder ended up creating a strain that gained notoriety for its elevated CBD content.
Aromas, Flavours and Effects of Harlequin: A Perfect Day Strain
A plant that harnesses what’s best from its predecessors, Harlequin offers a lively mix of terpenes. A trained palate will distinguish spicy, woody and earthy notes, combined with fresh mango, which gives the flavour profile a fruity twist. Thanks to its CBD content, this strain offers a clear-headed experience. It’s great for times when users want to relax and soothe their mind and body, without risking being overwhelmed. A few puffs of these flowers can also help find the focus and motivation needed to deal with the daily workload.
Growing Harlequin: Tall, Easy-Going Plants
Cultivating Harlequin is not a very challenging task. This variety thrives in controlled environments, but can also provide good results outdoors, as long as the climate is not too humid. Its robust genetics produce vigorous, tall plants that can reach 200cm if left to their own devices. A bit of training can help control the height and improve airflow, preventing mould from forming. Harlequin doesn’t require much patience with its 7–9 weeks of flowering; after that time, indoor growers can prepare to be amazed and harvest generous amounts of flowers. Outdoor yields are equally satisfying.
THC and CBD content in this strain. What makes it good for pain.
Because its THC content is so low, and because its high CBD counteracts the psychoactive effects of that THC, Harlequin is not likely to get the user particularly high. Any mental effects take the form of an uplift in mood, conferring a mellow mindset and allowing for some mild anxiety relief. Some users report an increased sense of focus or a shift in perspective, but just as frequently, they’re able to pull themselves out of this altered state and closer to sobriety.

I love this strain. Harlequin is my go to strain for relaxation, and mild pain relief, when I still need to function mentally. It seems to release tension from body, while keeping a completely clear mind. It is a great daytime strain for patients.
